Six governors know fate Friday as Supreme Court delivers judgment

The Supreme Court of Nigeria will on Friday give a ruling in an appeal filed before it challenging the election of governors of six states namely Lagos, Kano, Zamfara, Plateau, Ebonyi, and Bauchi.

The Pathfinder News gathered authoritatively about the palpable atmosphere and anxiety in all the affected states as no one was sure where the pendulum would swing based on the unpredictable nature of the Nigerian judiciary.

Some of the governors and their supporters have engaged alfas and prophets for prayers so that the judgments may favor them.

Similarly, some of the challengers aspiring to unseat the governors have gotten assurances from their prophets and alfas that Friday, January 2024 will go down well into the history of their lives.

Some of the challengers have further been emboldened by the surreptitious moves of certain powerful elements promising to influence the judiciary in their favor.

In some of the affected states, some of the challengers who have been assured of victory have bought aso ebi and cows for the celebration.

A journalist and the Editor of Politics Today in Channels Television, Seun Okinbaloye posted on his X on Thursday asking if there would be any upset in tomorrow’s Supreme Court judgment.

And these are people’s reactions:

Lol. Not a big day as Nigerians do not expect anything from this judiciary.
So, it’s not a big day, please.

Papi
Seun, all the judgment will be in ur party’s favor. That’s how low the judiciary has brought us. APC has destroyed our judicial, political, economic & cultural/religious sphere. Nigeria is tilted towards a one-party state

Bammy Tim
I see upset in
KANO
PLATEAU

Okpara Mbaitoli
Kano is going

Abdul Ahmad
If justice is served at the Kano state governorship crisis who would you think will win the case?

Tundey Bakre
Corruption-their party interest 2 win elections dat #REC’s #inec #judiciary can be adequately induced. Bribery. their value system. Machiavellian politics only cares about the end while the means are illegitimate, but #CJN, the justice system goes blind.
Nigerian politicians’ pathological condition is the reason why we are where we are. D justice system is not doing justice, really poor and corrupt, corruption accomplice.
#notopopulistpoliticalentrepreneurs #notokleptocracycorruptioninjusticeandimpynity

anticonstitutionalism.
#Notooppression

Lol, talking about Upset!!! Nigerians know that Our Judiciary is gone 💔🤌. They are corrupt, and compromised and they lack public trust. Under the tenure of Ariwoola, the CJN has proven to be shady, we’ve heard so many stories concerning the Judiciary’s credibility and trust.
Nigerians aren’t bothered anymore. We’ve seen that no Supreme Court can give Nigeria true Democracy. Revolution! Revolution!! Revolution!!!

If they give judgment I see upset but if they give justice they will be no upset it’s Nigeria and under the Tinubu govt where Ganduje as APC National Chairman

Mega Man

I’m more interested in the Kogi election tribunal, where Yahaya Bello is trying all he can to cover the daylight robbery, by frustrating SDP and sending robbers to steal electoral materials from the tribunal secretary & attempting to birth the REC who refused to be bought over. Thief

Ebonyi First Son
There is no surprise anymore neither can there be an upset anywhere. In a country where Tinubu is forced on us as president and Ganduje was chosen as a chairman of the ruling political party. These are just a few cases of abnormalities
