The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor AbdulWaheed Adelabu Salihu on Monday led a team of ministry officials on a visit to some public schools in Ibadan to assess compliance with school resumption.
The public and private schools in Oyo State reopened to students last Monday after the first-term holiday.
Prof. Salihu expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by both students and teachers of the schools visited and urged parents who are yet to send their children to school to do so.
He also warned teachers against the collection of fees and levies from students emphasising that primary and secondary school education in Oyo State is free of charge.
Some of the schools visited were Oba Akinbiyi Model School, Mokola; St. Louis Grammar School, Mokola; Government Secondary School, Orita-Aperin, Ibadan amongst others
