The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has urged the public to disregard campaign posters of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, announcing his alleged interest in the 2026 governorship election.

Posters soliciting support for Oyetola in the 2026 election surfaced in parts of Osogbo on Monday, fuelling speculation that the former governor might be considering a bid for the APC ticket.

Reacting to the development in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information, Mr Kola Olabisi, the APC dismissed the posters as the work of disgruntled individuals seeking to destabilise the party.

“We know the source of these fake posters and the mission behind them—to unsettle the party and create chaos that neither sits nor stands.

“Our disappointment as the leading opposition party in Osun State today is that the faceless promoters of this obnoxious act lack tact and subtlety, much like the proverbial witch that cries at night and a child dies in the morning. Who does not see the connection?” the statement read.

The party clarified that Oyetola had neither printed nor authorised anybody to print poster on his behalf.

“The state leader of our party and immediate past governor of Osun did not print any poster for any political ambition, let alone paste them. The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy did not instruct anyone to print or distribute posters on his behalf for any political, social, or economic purpose.

“The printing and pasting of these posters is a mere propaganda stunt orchestrated by political detractors to tarnish Oyetola’s reputation among APC members and supporters across Osun State.

“Our satisfaction comes from knowing that the metaphorical arrow fired by these agents of discord has missed its target. More fabricated stories can be expected from failed politicians still reeling from their expulsion from the progressive party,” the statement continued.

Olabisi further reiterated that the APC remains committed to its core values of the rule of law, fairness, and justice, and will not deviate from the principles that have defined its approach to governance.
