The Wole Oluyede Campaign Organisation makes it categorically clear that the defection of Funso Ayeni from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is not only welcome but a necessary political sanitation long overdue.

In a press statement issued by the Organisation’s Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, the Campaign Organisation asserted that for far too long, Ayeni operated as a destabilizing force within the PDP, advancing hidden agendas and collaborating with external actors to sabotage a party he could neither control nor command. His exit is not a loss but removal of a political liability.

Let it be stated without ambiguity, Ayeni’s movement to the ADC has fully exposed a desperate and discredited political clique led by former Governor Kayode Fayemi a group clinging to relevance through backdoor alliances, deception, and calculated disruption.

Unable to find acceptance within the people and lacking the courage to face the PDP in a fair contest, these actors have resorted to shadowy realignments and political double-dealing. Their objective was clear infiltrate, destabilize, and derail the unstoppable rise of the PDP and its candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede.

What Ekiti is witnessing today is the final unraveling of a tired political order that has outlived its usefulness. The so-called opposition is fractured, leaderless, and rejected. Their movements are driven not by vision, but by fear, fear of the growing, organic, and irreversible support for Dr. Wole Oluyede across the state.

Across towns, communities, and constituencies, the message is consistent: Ekiti people have moved on. They are done with recycled leadership, done with hidden alliances, and done with political manipulation.

Ayeni’s assignment was simple; weaken the PDP from within and create confusion ahead of 2026. Instead, his exit has achieved the exact opposite: it has strengthened party unity, sharpened focus, and accelerated the momentum of a people-driven movement that cannot be stopped.

The PDP today stands as the only coherent, credible, and dominant political force in Ekiti State. Dr. Wole Oluyede is not just a candidate he is the rallying point of a new political consciousness sweeping across the state.

No amount of scheming, coalition of convenience, or last-minute defections can alter this reality.

We therefore urge the people of Ekiti to remain vigilant and resolute. The antics of desperate politicians must not distract from the clear choice before the state.

The battle lines are drawn between a united, forward-looking PDP and a collapsing network of self-serving actors fighting for survival.
