The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty,Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja is among the 17 Chairmen of the State Council of Obas attending the Southern
State Traditional Rulers Council roundtable holding in PortHarcourt right now.
The roundtable under the Chairmanship of His Imperial Majesty,the Ooni of Ife,Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi was declared open by the River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In his opening remark,the River State Chief Executive expressed delight in the resolve of Southern Traditional Rulers drawn from the South West,South South and South Eastern Nigeria to come together as one, regardless of cultural, religious and ideological diversities.
He expressed his joy that the Traditional Council was right on target by focussing its attention to forster unity,peace, security, cohesion, development and co-operation across Southern Nigeria,and overall national progress.
He stated further that for inclusive growth of Nigeria,our people should work together for the re -election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,as the President,as, according to him “you do not change a winning team” Gov Fubara who expressed delight at the calibre of dignitaries present at the Southern Traditional rulers Council meeting, including former Governor, former Senators, industry captains, consummate business men and clerics, wished them fruitful deliberation.
Earlier in his welcome address,the Ooni of Ife had restated the objectives behind the formation of the Southern Traditional rulers council,with special tribute to Imo State Governor, Hope Uzondinma, whose State hosted the maiden meeting,and later Ogun, and Lagos State before the table turned to Rivers.
Oba Adeyeye,who expressed gratitude to the Governor Fubara and the people of River State for their hospitality, said the Southern Traditional Council is blessed with dignitaries drawn from different walks of life,using the Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman,Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs as a point of contact.
