Defending champion of the Valuejet Preseason Tournament, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Oyo State, have hit the Ogun State venue of the tournament for this new football year.
A statement by the Oluyole Warrior’s Media Officer, Tosin Omojola, on Tuesday, indicated that the team would know their group opponents on Tuesday (yesterday). This had, however, not been disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
Omojola hinted that organisers of the annual football showpiece, which was slated to commence on Wednesday (today), July 24, would hold the draws for the 2024 edition of the tourney on Tuesday at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
“According to the programme of events packaged by the organisers, the eight teams lined up for the tourney are expected to arrive in Ikenne, venue of the competition, on Tuesday, while the draw ceremony has been slated for 2:00 p.m (Tuesday),” he said.
Cup holders, Shooting Stars, will battle seven other clubs, including Sudanese side, Al-Merrikh FC for the trophy.
