Former Sunday Sun Editor, Louis Orion and grass root politician, Ummasalma Isiyaku Rabiu, have been nominated as Executive Commissioners of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement yesterday in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said Odion is nominated for the role of Executive Commissioner (Operations), while Rabiu will serve as Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services).
Both nominations are subject to the Senate’s confirmation, in line with the FCCPC Act, 2018.
Odion, from Edo State, is a former Senior Technical Assistant on Media to ex–Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and previously served as Edo State Commissioner for Information.
He holds Master’s degrees in Modern War Studies from the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom (UK) and in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Rabiu, 35, from Kano State, is the founder of the Usir Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering disadvantaged communities through education, skills training, and humanitarian programmes.
A Business Administration graduate, she is known for promoting inclusive governance, youth engagement, and women’s political participation
If confirmed, both appointees will join the FCCPC’s leadership in strengthening consumer protection and fostering fair competition in Nigeria’s marketplace.
