Please, share this story:
The national convention of the Labour Party {LP) was held on Wednesday in Nnewi, Anambra State, and Julius Abure was reelected for a second term.
Having secured unanimous votes of delegates, Ikechukwu Emetu, the chairman of the convention and the deputy governor of Abia state, declared him the winner.
Recall that Abure has been having a running battle with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) leadership led by Joe Ajaero over control of the party.
Due to the disagreement, the NLC had called for Abure’s resignation as party chairman and the immediate constitution of a caretaker transition committee.
