BREAKING: Tinubu removes Irukera, Okoh as CEOs of FCCPC, BPE

Two chief executive officers of two critical agencies of the Federal Government have been sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with immediate effect.

The two dismissed officers are Mr. Babatunde Irukera, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Federal Competition and the Consumer Protection Commission( FCCPC), and Mr. Alexander Ayoola Okoh, the first Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE)

According to a press statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity in Abuja on Monday, the President decided to restructure and reposition critical agencies of the Federal Government towards protecting the rights of Nigerian consumers and providing a strong basis for enhanced contributions to the nation’s economy by key growth-enabling institutions.

The two dismissed Chief Executives have been directed to hand over to the next most senior officer in their respective agencies, pending the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers.

“By this directive of the President, their removal from office takes immediate effect.”
