Governor Siminialayi Fubara of Rivers State has announced the immediate suspension of Otonye Briggs, the Caretaker Chairman of Akuru- Toru Local Government
This was made public in a statement signed by the governor’s chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, on Tuesday, September 17.
In the statement, Fubara appointed Bitebobo Nelson Amieye as the new caretaker committee chairman, effective immediately.
The governor also directed Briggs to hand over all council property in his possession to the newly appointed chairman.
