Insecurity plaguing Nigeria can be addressed when those at the helm of affairs and other citizens of the country demonstrate sincere cooperation.
Chairman, Moba local government area, Ekiti State, Mr Bamidele Fadugba canvassed this during a courtesy visit to members of the Nigeria Union ofJournalists, NUJ , at their Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti.
The chairman explained that security is fundamental for the well-being of the people. He added that he accords absolute priority to security in his area of jurisdiction, Moba local government. And by extension positing that nothing thrives in an environment beset by insecurity. This he stressed informed his putting in place a security outfit to work in collaboration with local hunters.
On his achievements since being in the saddle at the council, he outlined empowerment of the youth in various skills acquisition programmes in which at the end, they are supported with tools/ equipment. Others include payment of examination fees for students, construction and grading of roads to the farms.
He appreciated journalists for the level of publicity given to the policies and programmes of the Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji, thereby showcasing what the government is doing to the world.
The chairman underscored the need to endorse the governor for a second term considering what he called his people- oriented programme. Hence, he appealed to the people to ensure more support to the governor. According to him, the governor’s leadership style impacts positively on the different political divides in the state.
Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ , Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, appreciated the council boss for the visit. He assured him that the union is always ready to project the activities of the council.
Comrade Babatuyi urged the members to ensure adequate use of the story in their various media.
