Labour strike paralyses bank, other business activities in Ekiti

Members of the organized labour today paralysed activities in government offices and banks in Ekiti State, following the industrial action embarked upon by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC)

This is in line with the nationwide strike declared by the national body of the unions.

The State NLC Chairman, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo and the TUC Secretary, Comrade Yomi Peters led the labour team that went round the state secretariat and banks, workers were forced out of their offices.

In an interview, the NLC Chairman, Comrade Olatunde Kolapo and the TUC secretary Comrade Yomi Peters urged the government to respond to the demands of the workers before the strike would be called off.
