The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has dismissed what he called “subtle agitations” over his succession, insisting that God—not human pressure—will determine his replacement.

Speaking during a Bible study programme, the 83-year-old cleric said he would not be forced to step aside, even citing a recent instance where a young preacher’s repeated remarks about leadership succession struck him as inappropriate while he remains active in ministry.

Pastor Kumuyi warned against attempts by members, workers, or leaders within the church to influence him, stating that he would resist any such pressure.

He emphasised that his conviction and mission remain firm, noting that he has allowed many gifted preachers in the church to minister, but the appointment of a successor is entirely in God’s hands.

While acknowledging that a successor will eventually emerge, he urged members not to make him feel unwanted, stressing that divine timing will guide the transition. “When the time comes, God will choose a man after His own heart,” he said.
