Otunba Olugbenga Peter Obafemi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and governorship aspirant in the Ekiti 2026 governorship election has congratulated the Muslim faithful and called for sober reflection as they celebrate this year’s Eid al-Adha festivities.

Otunba Obafemi in a statement released to the journalists through the OPO Media Vanguard in Ado Ekiti on Thursday said that Eid al-Adha festival, as a very strong pillar of the Muslim faith, is a period of spiritual and sober reflection and commitment to Islamic values.

” I am using this forum to congratulate and celebrate my Muslim brothers and sisters in Ekiti and to assure them that I am the renewed hope for Ekiti to bring to an end the long period of suffering and abject poverty brought by the APC maladministration.”

Otunba Obafemi stated that it cannot be denied that the Ekiti people have been subjected to untold economic and social hardship by the APC administrations because our dear state is blessed with abundant natural resources to make Ekiti great.”

The PDP chieftain, however, reminded the people that tomorrow’s hope lies in the incoming PDP government of Otunba Obafemi, assuring that all things will be well.

Otunba Obafemi called for moderation in the celebrations, urging Muslims to be mindful of the current economic realities facing many families across the country.

He urged for empathy and kindness towards those facing economic challenges as the spirit of Eid al-Adha reminds us of the importance of sacrifice, charity, and our collective responsibility to one another as true Muslims.

Calling for moderation in the celebrations, Otunba Obafemi wishes the people a happy accident-free celebration.
