The Right Reverend (Dr.) Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, the Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, has been elected as the Archbishop of Ibadan Province of the church.
According to a statement on Tuesday by the Diocesan Communicator, Comrade Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, the announcement was made on Monday, 12th August, by His Grace, Primate and Cosmopolitan of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend (Dr.) Henry Ndukuba, during the Episcopal Synod at St. Mattew’s Anglican Church, Maitama, Abuja Diocese.
In the press release, Comrade Olugbemiga said during the Episcopal Synod, four Archbishops were elected, while seven clergymen were also elected as Bishops.
“Aladekugbe’s elevation didn’t come as a surprise to the clergy and laity of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese and visitors to the Diocese, considering the giant steps taken by our Father In The Lord on spiritual works and unprecedented capacity building of both members and infrastructures two years ago when he became the Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese,” he said.
Aladekugbe was noted to have called for the prayers of all and sundry and unflinching support to further take Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, Ibadan Province, as well as Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion to greater heights.
