Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election, Otunba Olugbenga Peter Obafemi, who last Tuesday declared governorship ambition, hereby appreciates everyone who graced the occasion.
Recall that Otunba Obafemi, a very loyal and stable PDP member and leader, during the declaration boasted of defeating the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and other political parties in the coming Ekiti Governorship Election, thanked all the party members, leaders, fellow governorship aspirants, and friends whose presence made the day unique.
According to a letter signed and made available to journalists by Otunba Obafemi, he said, ” I am truly humbled by the love and honour you showed me.
“Leaving your jobs, businesses, family, and personal engagements to stand by me with your presence, support (both financial and non-financial), and encouragement means more than I can fully express.
” This is just the beginning of the journey and knowing I have your support gives me the strength and confidence to press forward. I do not take it for granted.
” I enjoin you to support me with your votes to win the primary election coming up on October 20, 2025, and with the Almighty God being with me, I will win the governorship election and return PDP to glory in Ekiti.
” I therefore call for unity devoid of rancour and acrimony among the members and leaders of the party. Only a united and formidable PDP can repeat the electoral victories of 2003 and 2014.
” My motto is Ekiti First, to usher in a new era of peace, adequate security, economic boom, and judicious use of the state finances.
“I pray that your sacrifices now will be rewarded, and when God gives us this ticket, and victory in the 2026 governorship election, you will not only celebrate with me you will share in the benefits and the blessings that follow.
