Please, share this story:
Nurses in the employ of the Oyo State government, under the aegis of Association of National Nurses and Midwives (ANNM), Oyo State Council, have called off their work to rule.
The development was made known on Tuesday via a letter sent to the chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, a copy of which journalists saw.
It was learnt that a statement jointly signed by the state chairman and secretary of ANNM, Comrades Adeyemi Samuel and Aina Emmanuel, respectively, read that “we write to inform you that following the commitments of the state government to attend to the demands of leadership of ANNM, the Oyo State Council has approved the suspension of our indefinite strike for one month.
“In the light of the above, all our members across the state have been directed to resume their duties from Wednesday, 24th, 2024. “This is to allow for the implementation of the remaining approved agitations.
“While thanking you for your efforts in addressing all our demands, please, accept the assurances of our highest regards.”
Remarking on the letter, Dr. Fagbemi praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts in ending the impasse, saying he had given the nurses assurances that their demands would be met.
