Former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s defunct presidential campaign organization, Daniel Bwala has said that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate who came second in the last presidential election was still the best president for this nation.

Bwala who stated this on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday night said notwithstanding previous unsuccessful attempts by the Turaki of Adamawa, he expressed the ability of Atiku to contest the presidential seat in 2027 and would win.

When asked about Atiku’s potential future candidature, Bwala said, “Surely, he would run. He has the capacity, he has the wisdom, he knows, he has the energy and the zest, and he is a president we never had, because to be honest with you, if there is any politician who understands the private sector, it is Atiku Abubakar. And this our economy can only come alive if there is a private sector-led economy.”

Atiku, 77, has contested for the Nigerian presidency six times—in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023—without success.

Meanwhile, Bwala has called for a strong coalition of political parties to wrestle power from the All Progressive Congress(APC) in 2027.

Bwala who made the call in an interview on Channels Television on Politics Today on Tuesday said without the formation of a strong coalition of political parties ahead of the 2027 general election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would spend eight years in office.

He however said that he was sure of a coalition of political parties coming that will swallow some of the elements that are creating problems in the various political parties.

Bwala said, “The truth of the matter is that there will be a coalition of political parties that will be very strong. This is a fact that I know. The coalition that is coming will swallow some of the elements that are creating the problems in the various political parties,” he added.

“Tinubu is the one instigating crises in opposition political parties. You can see the crises rocking the Labour Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).”

On the political crisis in Rivers State, Bwala predicted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara would be removed from office, adding that he already stepped into the trap set for him.
