The Ekiti State Police Command has directed Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of Operations and Intelligence Units to commence what it calls continuous intelligence-led raiding of criminal hideouts, constant bush combing, and visibility policing.
The Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, who said this while parading suspects at the Command’s headquarters, Ado-Ekiti, advised the concerned officers to ensure a good working relationship with other sister agencies and the non-state actors.
He gave an assurance that the Command under his leadership will continue to prioritize the safety of lives and properties of all the good people of Ekiti State. He warned criminal elements to turn a new leaf, steer clear, or risk facing the full wrath of the law.
Some of the crimes/achievements as enunciated by the police include:
– Case of Conspiracy, Stealing, and Illegal Possession of Firearms

During the operation, two suspects, Bolaji Kazeem and Isa Sikirulahi, were intercepted while riding on a TVS NEO motorcycle at the Isato area of Ado-Ekiti. Upon searching them, one locally made pistol loaded with a live cartridge and one battle axe were found in their possession.
During the investigation, the two suspects confessed that they specialize in removing vehicles and motorcycles from where they are parked, especially within the Ado-Ekiti metropolis. They further confessed that they recently stole two Toyota Camry vehicles within Ado-Ekiti and have sold them to a dealer who is currently at large.
Further investigation led to the recovery of another stolen TVS NEO motorcycle in their hideout in the Omisanjana area of Ado-Ekiti. Investigation is in progress for possible arrest and prosecution of the receivers of the stolen vehicles and the recovery of the stolen items.

He further confessed that they have stolen four motorcycles recently, which have all been sold to their customers somewhere in Osun State.
However, one unregistered Boxer Bajaj motorcycle that was ridden to the scene by the suspects was recovered.
