Ekiti varsity gets approval to run degree in Laboratory Science

The Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti has obtained the approval of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) to run the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) programme.

According to a statement made available to journalists by the Head, Directorate of Information and Public Affairs of the institution, Bode Olofinmuagun, at the weekend, the MLSCN, in a letter dated 8th July, 2024 and addressed to the vice chancellor, conveyed the council’s approval for the university for an initial two-year period, with an intake of 50 students per session.

He said the council, which was a professional body, was the National Medical Laboratory Services Accreditation Agency, adding that the letter was signed by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Professor Tosan Erhabor.

“The university community received the news with admiration, while the vice chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun, has been commended for improving the academic standard of the ivory tower since his assumption of office,” Olofinmuagun added..
