The Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has adjourned the case instituted against the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Wole Oluyede till December 8 for further hearing.
Oluyede had emerged the winner at the gubernatorial primary election conducted on November 8 by the Senator Ibrahim Dankwabo-led electoral committee. Oluyede scored 279 votes to defeat Funsho Ayeni and Mrs. Funmi Ogun.
In suit number FHC/AD/CS/29/2025 between Funsho Ayeni and the Peoples Democratic Party and six others before the Court 1 presided over by Honourable Justice Babs Ikuewumi, Ayeni is challenging the victory of Oluyede.
Barrister Kola Kolade (SAN) led other lawyers to represent Funsho Ayeni while Barrister Ola Olanipekun (SAN) Barrister Owoseni Ajayi represented Dr Wole Oluyede.
The State legal Adviser of the party, Barrister Ola Alonge held brief for the first respondent, the PDP.
Barrister Kola Kolade (SAN) informed the court of a motion on notice received today and pleaded that he should be given at least two days to allow him to study and prepare for response.
In his own reply, Barrister Olanipekun SAN concurred but pleaded with the court to consider that he is staying in Abuja and he always takes flight but pleaded that Monday next week will be okay for him.
Without much time, Justice Ikuewumi complained about his vacation but granted the request and declared that he would ensure speedy hearing of the case and adjourned till noon, December 8,2025 for further hearing.
This adjournment will allow both parties to prepare for the December 8, 2025 further hearing.
