The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wole Oluyede, has sent a strong warning to political opponents, declaring himself the “Omolaja” (unifier) of Ekiti PDP and the rallying force that will dismantle the ruling APC in the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

Speaking at a charged stakeholders’ meeting at his Green Hill Hotel in Ikere Ekiti, Oluyede made it clear that his ongoing political engagements are strategic moves to consolidate power and secure total victory.

According to a press statement by Oluyede’s Special Adviser on Media, Gani Salau and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, the PDP governorship candidate said, “I am the Omolaja of Ekiti PDP—the one bringing everyone together. That is what they fear. That is why they are uncomfortable,” he declared.

Responding to criticisms over his high-level consultations, Oluyede dismissed detractors as politically irrelevant, insisting that unity across divides is the PDP’s strongest weapon.

“Let them criticise. Let them complain. While they are talking, we are working—and we are winning,” he fired.

He urged party members to close ranks and align with his strategy, stressing that division only benefits the struggling administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

“This election is winnable—but only if we stand together. No excuses, no distractions. Victory is within reach,” he said.

Oluyede took a swipe at the APC-led government, describing it as a failure that has left Ekiti underdeveloped despite huge resources.

He vowed to deliver:
Independent Power Plant (IPP) to end darkness
Massive road reconstruction and a functional ring road network
Jobs for youths and an end to street idleness
Prompt salary payment and 13th-month bonus for workers
Immediate action on unpaid pensions, gratuities, and leave bonuses
“Ekiti cannot continue like this. Enough of excuses. Enough of stagnation. We will fix this state,” he declared.

Oluyede left no doubt about his ambition:
“My mission is clear—by October 16, 2026, I will be at Oke Ayoba as Governor of Ekiti State. Nothing will stop it.”

The Director-General of the Campaign Council, Makanjuola Ogundipe, charged party members to immediately begin ward-to-ward mobilisation, declaring that the battle for Ekiti has begun.

The Ekiti PDP Chairman, Tunji Odeyemi, echoed the call, urging members to convert support into votes.

The Deputy Governorship candidate, Deji Ogunsakin, delivered a blunt message:
“The time has come to vote out failure. Ekiti deserves better—and Oluyede represents that change.”

Party leader and former senator, Duro Faseyi, described Oluyede’s emergence as divine, declaring:
“God has started this journey, and He will finish it in victory.”

The Campaign Organisation warned that the election will not be won by sentiment, but by unity, strategy, and aggressive mobilisation.

“This is not the time for division. This is the time to take power. Ekiti must rise—and it will rise with Oluyede.”
