The remains of renowned Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Aminu Dantata were laid to rest on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Baqi Cemetery in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, following Islamic funeral rites.

Dantata, who passed away on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at the age of 94, was widely respected for his legacy in business, philanthropy, and nation-building.

His burial followed a solemn Janazah (funeral) prayer held at the Prophet’s Mosque immediately after the Asr (late afternoon) prayer.

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the sacred site to pay their final respects, including members of the Nigerian delegation, dignitaries, and well-wishers from the global Muslim community. Prayers were offered for the repose of his soul and for Allah’s mercy upon him.
