Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched a scathing attack on the African Democratic Congress (ADC), ridiculing its recent convention and questioning the party’s credibility.

In a statement posted on his X handle, Fani-Kayode described the convention organised by the faction aligned with David Mark as chaotic, disorganised, and lacking political substance.

He alleged that the event was poorly managed, citing overcrowding and uncomfortable conditions for attendees.

“I watched a faction of the ADC conducting what they described as their party convention a few days ago and it was pitiful. I saw an overcrowded hall filled with hot, sweaty men and women,” he said.

The former minister further claimed that the gathering was marked by tension and disorder, alleging that participants engaged in heated arguments and physical altercations.

According to him, the atmosphere reflected deeper internal divisions within the party.

Fani-Kayode also recounted what he described as an embarrassing incident during the event, alleging that an elderly speaker mistakenly referenced another political party while addressing the audience, an error he said underscored confusion within the ranks.

He questioned the seriousness and direction of the convention, insisting it failed to project the image of a viable political platform.

“What we witnessed was more of a gathering of desperate individuals craving a return to power rather than the convention of a serious political party,” he said.

The former minister concluded by dismissing the ADC’s chances in future elections, insisting the party lacks the structure and unity required to emerge as a major political force.

His remarks come amid ongoing leadership disputes within the ADC, with multiple factions laying claim to the party’s national leadership, further deepening internal tensions.
