As the off-cycle gubernatorial campaign in Ekiti State gains momentum, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has assured the people of Ekiti that he will fulfill all his election promises if granted the mandate.

The PDP candidate made the declaration at his residence in Ikere Ekiti while receiving the Chairman of the Wole Oluyede Campaign Council, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, and other council members. He reiterated that every plank of his campaign manifesto is designed to directly improve the lives of Ekiti residents, contrasting sharply with the perceived failures of the current Oyebanji administration.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media, Gani Salau, Oluyede outlined programs aimed at empowering Ekiti people and creating self-reliance.

“The moment you are self-reliant, you have confidence in your government. I will be the first Governor to establish an Independent Power Plant (IPP) in Ekiti, generating our own electricity to drive commerce, industry, and entrepreneurship,” he stated.

Oluyede pointed to existing IPPs in the South East as models that have transformed local economies, emphasizing the potential for similar success in Ekiti.

He also promised to promote commercial agriculture, supporting citizens interested in farming to boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), while prioritizing infrastructure across all sixteen local government areas and the state capital.

“During my familiarization tour of Ekiti North last week, I observed the deplorable condition of roads from Iworoko to Igbemo, Ikole, and beyond. We will use local resources, like the abundant rocks around us, to construct durable road networks,” he said.

Oluyede assured civil servants and retirees that salaries would be paid promptly, with pensions and gratuities fully disbursed. He also pledged to strengthen state security, equipping personnel for proactive protection against internal and cross-border threats.

Finally, Oluyede thanked the people of Ekiti for their overwhelming support during his pre-campaign tours and urged them to translate that backing into decisive votes in the June 20 gubernatorial election.

“Together, we can bring a new era of prosperity, security, and development to Ekiti State,” he affirmed.
