Iyan Aladuke, wife of renowned Nollywood actor and lawyer Femi Adebayo, has publicly spoken out, alleging that her husband has subjected her to sustained intimidation, public embarrassment, and a deliberate campaign to damage her reputation.
In a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram page, Aladuke broke her silence following a recent report published by Punch Newspapers, which she claims contained false narratives aimed at portraying her negatively.
Alleged Armed Eviction and Abuse of Family
Aladuke accused her husband of orchestrating a forceful eviction from their marital home, claiming that nearly 20 armed men were deployed to remove her and her elderly mother.
“What exactly did you expect when you brought almost 20 armed men to a public place to evict people?” she wrote. “Of course the story would spread.”
She expressed outrage over the alleged treatment of her mother, stating that her aged parent was forcefully evicted at gunpoint despite Femi Adebayo’s knowledge that she regularly stayed with her to assist in caring for their child.
“My elderly mother was chased out with a gun, even though you knew she was around to help me take care of my child,” she alleged.
Claims of Image Laundering and Public Deception
Aladuke further accused the actor of engaging in calculated public relations efforts designed to project a positive image while privately causing distress. She cited a recent visit by Adebayo to their son’s school, which she claimed was staged after a year-long absence.
“You suddenly appeared at his school on Wednesday after being absent for an entire year, even though your office is just minutes away,” she alleged. “You took pictures to polish your image, yet by Friday, we were thrown out of our marital home. Then the school visit was conveniently published in Punch.”
According to her, the sequence of events was deliberate and premeditated. She hinted that she anticipated what followed immediately after learning of the school visit.
“I knew what was coming the moment I heard about the surprise visit and photo display. Truth is loading—play on for now,” she wrote.
Silence Broken, Truth Promised
Throughout her posts, Aladuke emphasized that she had chosen silence for a long time in order to protect their child. However, she declared that she would no longer allow herself to be silenced or discredited.
“Lies may travel for years, but when I decide to speak, the truth will consume them in a minute,” she stated.
She accused unnamed individuals of attempting to suppress her voice by attacking her reputation, describing their actions as desperate attempts at damage control.
“You keep trying to silence me by targeting my name. I am done staying quiet. The desperation to protect your image shows that you don’t care who is destroyed in the process—but I refuse to go down with your lies,” she added.
Background and Public Reaction
Femi Adebayo, a respected figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, has previously faced public attention regarding his private life. Aladuke referenced online attacks and alleged false accusations from the previous year, suggesting that the current situation is part of a prolonged marital dispute that has increasingly played out in the public sphere.
She concluded one of her posts with a pointed reflection on character, writing, “If someone has to put you down to feel important, it reveals everything about their inner state.”
As of the time of filing this report, Femi Adebayo has not publicly responded to the allegations. There has also been no official reaction from Punch Newspapers regarding the claims made against its publication.
Meanwhile, the allegations have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with the hashtag #IyanAladuke gaining traction as users react to and debate the unfolding controversy.
