Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, has resigned from the State Executive Council.

Mustapha who is a son of Senator Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, resigned from the cabinet following the defection of Governor Abba Yusuf from the NNPP to APC.

Mustapha Kwankwaso, in a statement on Monday, said the decision was taken “with a heavy heart,” expressing gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the opportunity to serve Kano State.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and Member of the Kano State Executive Council. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the people of Kano State,” he said.
