Though the abductors of the Ekiti school pupils have demanded N100 million ransom for the release of the pupils and the teachers, the Pathfindernews gathered that so far the families of the kidnap victims have been able to raise N450,000, a far cry from the N100m being demanded by the kidnappers.

Recall that last Monday gunmen ambushed a school bus returning home pupils of a private nursery school in Eporo Ekiti at about 5 pm and no fewer than six school pupils, three teachers, and a driver were taken to the bush by their abductors.

The gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked the bus at a place in Eporo-Ekiti, close to the Ondo state border, and whisked it to the forest.

Efforts by the Eporo-Ekiti community to meet the demand of the kidnappers appeared to have hit the rock as of late yesterday evening.

It was gathered that seven of the ten kidnapped victims, which included six school pupils, two teachers, a bus driver, and his conductor were from the Eporo-Ekti community in Emure Ekiti Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given a marching order to the security agencies to rescue the abducted victims alive and expel the criminals from the state forest.
