The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has been praised by Otunba Olugbenga Peter Obafemi for having things to present to the people of Oyo State as scorecards since he assumed office as governor of the state.
Otunba Obafemi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and governorship aspirant in the Ekiti 2026 governorship election stated this in a press statement released to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Thursday to congratulate Governor Makinde on the occasion of his remarkable 6th year in office.
He described Governor Makinde as a visionary and workaholic leader whose scintillating performance has endeared him to the people of Oyo State most.
Otunba Obafemi mentioned some of these good works, such as acquiring Ladoke Akintola University ( LAUTECH) for the Oyo State, thereby putting an end to many years of internal strife between the state and Osun State, the co-owner over funding of the institution.
According to Otunba Obafemi, Governor Makinde, toeing the legacy of good performance of former PDP administrations in Oyo and at the center, within six years, constructed many roads in Ibadan and other towns in the state.
” Worth mentioning is the circular road in Ibadan started by past administrations and continued by Governor Makinde purposely for free movement of vehicles coming and going out of the state devoid of gridlock.”
According to Otunba Obafemi,” Since the first term in office of Governor Makinde, workers in Oyo State have been paid their salaries on or before 25th of every month and have been collecting 13th-month salary every year unfailingly.
” During the COVID-19 period, workers were told to remain indoors and were paid their salaries without stopping. The workers would remain grateful to the Governor. The Governor was able to do this due to his economic ingenuity and milk of kindness in him as opposed to what happened in some APC-controlled states.
” The governor has done much in transforming education in the state as promotion of teachers has been done with no delay as opposed to what he met on the ground. He introduced many reforms, making the state envious of other states.
“The unwavering commitment to good governance and dedication to the progress and prosperity of Oyo State has continued to inspire confidence and admiration for Governor Makinde across the nation.
“As you mark this milestone, may your legacy of excellence and service continue to blossom, bringing lasting development to the people of Oyo State.
