A 43-year-old woman, Mrs Ajenifuja Damilola Clement, has been apprehended by the operatives of Ekiti State Security outfit Amotekun for hitting the head of her nine-year-old son, Segun Clement, with a pestle.
Mrs Clement, an indigene of Akure, Ondo State, who resides in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State, on interrogation by the operatives, claimed she used the pestle as a punishment measure for his wrongdoings.
But the child was lucky to be alive from the alleged abuse.
The suspect confessed to the alleged crime and was handed over to the Police Division in Efon for further investigation.
