Yuletide : PDP candidate, Oluyede, felicitates Christians, harps on unity

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming election in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has felicitated Christians all over the world as they celebrate Christmas to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.

Oluyede charged Christians to spread love, peace and unity “which are the hallmarks that brought Jesus Christ to the world.”

This was contained in a statement by Oluyede”s spokesperson, Gani Salau, made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, on Thursday.

He urged Christians all over the world to ensure that the birth of Jesus Christ served as a means to conquer sins and forgiveness.

“As we are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, let me emphasize that his birth conquers sins. His birth renews our hope and through his name, our sins are forgiven which gives redemption and salvation to this world,” he said.

Okuyede charged Christians to spread love among themselves through gifts and wishes to their fellow and neighbours.

“While spreading love through your gifts, let it be from your kind heart as a way of building on our existing unity so that we can have a peaceful society,” he said.

The gubernatorial candidate urged Christians, particularly in Ekiti State, to coexist with people of other faiths and leave in peace and harmony.

He advised Christians not to use the festive period only for dinning and winning alone, but to have sober reflection on the state of the state.

He prayed for the growth and development of Ekiti State “in order to be able to rub shoulder with other developing states in the federation.

“May the joy of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, usher in divine peace, enduring unity, sound health and uncommon blessings to the people of Ekiti State.”

The medical doctor turned politician reminded Christians to see the birth of Jesus Christ as a light over darkness, adding that “his birth has made us children which has totally led to our liberation.”

He noted the uniqueness of Ekiti State as one entity and prayed for peace and tranquility to rein in the land as the year is gradually winding up.
