Tinubu to opposition coalition: ‘You’re political IDPs’

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Nasarawa State on Wednesday took a swipe at the politicians forming a coalition against his reelection in 2027, describing them as politically displaced persons seeking new relevance.

The President was on a visit to Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital to commissioned several legacy projects initiated by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Tinubu downplayed the coalition effort, describing it as premature and ill-conceived.

Tinubu also warned that he would not *7stand idle while some political actors work to undermine his administration.

“Those who have triggered early politics in the perdition of coalition suddenly—don’t pay them any attention; they are the political IDPs. Don’t give them a home; the hope is here,” he said.

“I’m not geared for what they tried to pull on me—an early political campaign—but who is the politician who will keep quiet when the gangsterism are forming a coalition to unseat themselves?”

The president maintained that his government has recorded notable achievements despite current economic challenges.

“We’ve cut the waste. I won’t say much on the economic dynamism that we’re facing, but the hope is here. From this moment on, you’ll have no regret,” Tinubu said.

He praised the governor of Nasarawa’s efforts in delivering development to the people and acknowledged his prudent management of state resources.

“I can see hard work coming from A.A. Sule, who is determined to use the resources available to him for the benefit, stability, and prosperity of Nasarawa State,” the president said.

“Sule is doing well because Bola Tinubu is doing well, too.”

He also applauded the contributions of the first lady of Nasarawa and assured the people of the federal government’s continued support.
