The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), B Zone is to host the representative of Oyo North in the Senate, Senator Abdulfatah Buhari; Vice Chancellor of the Ladoke Akinola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Professor Razak Olatunde; and the National President of the union, Comrade Alhassan Abdullahi, on its 32nd World Press Freedom Day.
Vice President, NUJ B Zone, Princess Ronke Samo, made this disclosure in a statement made available to journalists at the weekend.
The event is billed for the Dapo Aderogba Hall of the NUJ, Oyo State council, Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Wednesday.
She said the theme of the event would be “The Impact of Artificial intelligence on Press Freedom and the Media.”
Mrs. Samo added that the keynote speaker would be the foremost university’s vice chancellor, Professor Olatunde.
The NUJ leader besought media practitioners, friends of the media and leaders of thought to grace the occasion.
“We shall discuss on issues germane to the various challenges facing our nation, with regards to how the media in the current technology-driven world tries to analyse them.
“We are mindful of even the challenges the media itself, as an industry, faces with regards to freedom of expression. Together we can change the negative trends that are noticeable,” she said.
