Over six thousand people have benefited from an empowerment program organized by the Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele.

At the event tagged ” MOB Strategic Mega Empowerment Programme” held at the Ekiti State Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, Senator Bamidele said as an elected member of the National Assembly, he will continue to attend to the yearnings and needs of the people.

The program, which marked the climax of weeks of training in different skills for members of his constituency, was for the distribution of vehicles and equipment of different kinds for the trainees to be meaningfully engaged. The Senate Leader said the humanitarian gesture is a way of giving back to the people.

He appreciated the Ekiti State governor, Biodun Oyebanji, for consistently and deliberately availing him of a conducive environment to do his job at the National Assembly.

According to Bamidele, the empowerment was for 2024, assuring the people that plans are afoot for the 2025 edition, which will be held in no distant time.

Bamidele pointed out that the empowerment has no political undertone, stressing that the selection process was thorough and beneficiaries cut across political and religious divides. According to him “, the selection was not done based on political parties “.

Out of the six thousand beneficiaries, 1,900 will get a grant of #100,000 each which will include 800 market women to boost their trade. He remarked,” There are also students whose cheques are ready for collection, but there will be a symbolic presentation by the governor as they line up.”
