The Nigeria Police Force has rescued six law students who were abducted while traveling from Anambra to Adamawa state on July 26, 2025.

The students are of Yola campus of the Nigeria law school.

The students – Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David were passengers in a commercial vehicle operated by AJ Dan Pullo Transport Company, based in Onitsha, Anambra state.

Blueprint reports that the abduction occurred in the late hours of Saturday in a region infamous for armed banditry and frequent kidnappings.

According to a statement released Friday by Udeme Edet, the Public Relations Officer of the Benue Police Command, “the students were found and safely released early this morning, August 1, 2025. They have since been reunited with their families.”

The police didn’t disclosed further details regarding the circumstances of the rescue, but expressed gratitude for public cooperation and support throughout the effort.
