Please, share this story:
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has hailed the party’s members for “their peaceful conduct at the National Convention of the party ongoing in Ibadan” on Sunday.
He said the convention would lead to a strong and formidable PDP that would defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), come 2027.
Ajadi, who was the governorship candidate of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, stated this while speaking with journalists on the sideline of the National Elective Convention of the party at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
He said the peaceful conduct of the members at the convention and the huge turnout of delegates and members were an indication that the PDP remained strong and formidable, despite its recent crisis.
He added that the PDP would “reclaim its glory, with this peaceful conduct of its National Convention.”
According to him, “PDP will take back its glory by the grace of God. So, come 2027, the masses will decide who their leaders will be, who will be their president.
“Every Nigerian knows that the PDP usually produces government of the people by the people and for the people.
“So, PDP will reclaim its glory with this convention and we are fully set for the 2027 polls.”
Ajadi praised the host governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and the Convention Planning Committee for carrying out a well done job.
He specifically appreciated Governors Makinde of Oyol; and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, who is the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the convention, as well as the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Dr. Bala Mohammed, for their efforts, which he said resulted in a rancour-free national convention.
“I am highly impressed with the organisation of this convention. I know with the way we are now, this is a rebirth of the PDP; a new PDP that is formidable, strong and capable of taking over power from the APC-led government in 2027.
“There is no party without crisis; and PDP has definitely bounced back from its crisis. Kudos to our governors and party leaders, including Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and several others too numerous to mention.
“After this convention, the new National Working Committee (NWC) should reach out to any aggrieved member. Let us forget and forgive. All hands should be on deck to restore the PDP to its rightful position.”
