Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Salihu Adelabu, on Wednesday, undertook an inspection tour across various schools to oversee the ongoing rescheduled Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) within the state.
The state government sternly warned against malpractices in the examinations.
The commissioner explained that the monitoring of the process underscored the commitment of the state government to ensure quality education and uphold standards in the examination process.
While addressing the students, the commissioner urged them to remain focused on their studies and emphasised that the BECE examinations would reflect their level of preparedness for Senior Secondary Schools.
He reiterated the caution against engaging in any form of examination malpractice, reminding students that integrity was paramount in achieving academic success.
Professor Adelabu reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for students and ensuring that the education sector continued to thrive in Oyo State.
During the inspection, schools visited by the Education Commissioner and directors from the ministry were Oba Akinbiyi High School, Mokola; Saint Brigid’s Secondary School, Mokola; Community High School, Adamasingba, Ibadan, among others.
