Oyo HoS hails civil servants over peaceful conduct of confirmation, promotion, advancement examinations

The Oyo State Head of Service (HoS), Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, has hailed the civil/public servants across the state for peaceful conduct of the just-concluded confirmation, promotion and advancement examinations in the state.

According to a statement issued in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, by the Information Officer, SSG/HoS, Oyo State, Abiodun Atilola, on Friday, participants in the examinations were commended by the state government for the smooth conduct of the exercise, describing it as an eye-opener to broader aspects of the civil service system.

Atilola said the HoS visited Iseyin and Oyo to monitor the conduct of the examinations.

“She visited Iseyin District Grammar School, Raji Oke-Esa Memorial Comprehensive High School, Iseyin; St. Bernardines Girls Grammar School, Oyo and Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo.

“She also visited Bishops Phillips Academy, Ibadan zone II, while she was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Service Matters, at Ibadan Zone I, with visits to all the seven centres in the zone, which included OLA, Odo Ona, Queen’s School, Apata and Government College, Apata, among others.

“Visits were also made to the Eruwa Zone of the examination. In the two zones, the conduct of the examination was applauded and candidates were urged to comport themselves in an ethical manner and to see the exercise as a way to improve their performance and to promote excellence in service.

“The visits were greeted with excitement, as candidates welcomed the HoS and her team.

“She then moved round the examination halls to assess the process and later emphasized that the exercise was critical to workers’ career growth and professional development.

“Mrs Oni advised participants to remain committed to self-improvement after the examinations, urging them to continually acquire knowledge and skills relevant to their duties and personal lives.

“The Head of Service reiterated further that with this examination, expectations were high that Oyo State workers would return to their various offices better equipped, motivated, and prepared to contribute more effectively to service delivery.

“One of the participants at the examination centre, Mr. Asa Olusola from the State Ministry of Information, commended the state government for rejigging the knowledge of the State workforce,” Atilola said.
