Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and governorship aspirant in the Ekiti 2026 governorship election, Otunba Olugbenga Peter Obafemi has mourned the death of former national deputy chairman (South) of the party, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo who reportedly died on Friday in Ibadan.

In a press statement released by the Olugbenga Peter Obafemi Media Vanguard in Ado Ekiti today, Otunba Obafemi described the death of Adeojo, who was the Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland, as a big blow to the PDP family.

Describing him as a great leader, Obafemi lauded Adeojo as a man of many parts: “a successful businessman, pious religious leader, and political mighty Iroko tree”

He stated further, ” In the religion, Baba Adeojo was there as Seriki Adinni; in politics, he has been our dependable leader in PDP for over two decades. Even in business, Baba was a no pushover.

“His death will leave a vacuum in PDP because even after quitting politics, people were still going to him for advice.

“It is my prayer that God will grant repose to his soul, grant him Aljanah Firdaus, and uphold the family he left behind.”
