Makanjuola accepts appointment as Director General of Dr Oluyede Oluwole Campaign, vows grassroots victory for PDP in Ekiti 2026

Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe has formally assumed office as the Director General of the Dr. Oluyede Oluwole Campaign Organization, a development regarded as a significant boost to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) drive to reclaim the Ekiti State Government House in the 2026 governorship election.

In his acceptance speech before party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, Chief Ogundipe who was former South-West chairman of PDP expressed profound appreciation to the party’s governorship candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, as well as the Ekiti State PDP leadership, for the confidence reposed in him.

Describing the assignment as a call to service, he noted that the campaign transcends partisan politics and represents a collective mission to secure a better future for the people of Ekiti State.

* A People-Centred Mission

Chief Makanjuola stressed that the campaign would focus squarely on addressing the everyday challenges faced by Ekiti residents. He highlighted key priorities such as improved healthcare delivery, quality education, and the creation of a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

“Dr. Oluyede Oluwole embodies the integrity, competence, and vision that Ekiti State urgently needs,” he said. “This election is about the mother seeking accessible healthcare and the student yearning for a secure future. Our campaign is the platform through which that change will come.”

* Strategy and Grassroots Mobilisation

Outlining his campaign philosophy, the Director General pledged to run an open, disciplined, and result-driven campaign anchored on hard work and strategic planning. He charged party members and supporters to take the campaign message to the grassroots, including wards, markets, and communities across the state.

According to him, the campaign will be guided by four core principles:
Unity: Operating as one cohesive team with a shared purpose.
Conduct: Maintaining a civil, issue-based, yet firm campaign.
Methodology: Deploying innovative, data-informed strategies alongside robust grassroots engagement.
Priority: Keeping the welfare and aspirations of the people at the centre of all policies and messaging.

* Looking Ahead to 2026

While acknowledging the challenges ahead, Chief Makanjuola expressed strong optimism about the party’s prospects. He urged supporters to consistently articulate the PDP’s vision to every Ekiti citizen, expressing confidence that the party would emerge victorious and usher in a new era of development.

“The cause is just, and the moment is now,” he concluded. “Let us roll up our sleeves and get to work.”
