The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, is set to officially commission the newly constructed Oyo State PDP Secretariat in Ibadan on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
The ultra-modern party facility was donated by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s institutional framework in the state and across the Southwest.
The commissioning and formal handover of the property to the Party’s Board of Trustees (BoT)—the statutory custodians of PDP assets—will take place at the Secretariat headquarters in Ibadan at 10:00 a.m.
The event is expected to attract top party leaders, including members of the National Working Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees, Oyo State PDP executives, critical stakeholders, dignitaries, and party faithful from across the country.
Governor Makinde’s donation is widely seen as a reflection of his steadfast commitment to party development, unity, and organizational strength. The new Secretariat is expected to provide a modern and conducive environment for party administration, strategic planning, grassroots mobilization, and policy coordination.
Observers say the gesture underscores the governor’s dedication to the PDP’s ideals of good governance, transparency, equity, and people-centered leadership, while positioning the Oyo State chapter for more effective political engagement.
The donation has been described by party leaders as a symbol of vision and generosity, expected to enhance operational efficiency as the PDP continues its mission of returning power to the people and delivering the dividends of democracy.
