The Nigeria Police Force has removed Assistant Commissioner of Police, Benjamin Hundeyin, from his position as Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), barely six months after his appointment.
Sources within the police confirmed that the decision was approved on Thursday, shortly after Tunji Disu assumed office as the new Inspector-General of Police.
Disu officially took over leadership of the force on Wednesday following the removal of the former IGP, Kayode Egbetokun.
A senior police source said Hundeyin’s removal forms part of routine administrative changes often carried out when a new Inspector-General takes office.
However, the police authorities have yet to announce a replacement for the position.
Hundeyin was appointed Force spokesperson by Egbetokun and had served in several capacities within the force before his latest role..
