Iran on Tuesday issued a stern warning to European countries, warning that any involvement in its conflict with Israel and the United States would be considered an act of war.

Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei told reporters, “It would be an act of war. Any such act against Iran would be regarded as complicity with the aggressors. It would be regarded as an act of war against Iran.”

The warning follows statements from Germany, Britain, and France suggesting they could take “defensive action” to neutralize Iran’s missile capabilities.

Meanwhile, NATO welcomed France’s announcement to expand its nuclear arsenal. President Emmanuel Macron said France may deploy nuclear-armed aircraft to allied countries, prompting NATO officials to stress the need for a coordinated approach.

A NATO official told AFP, “France’s nuclear deterrent already contributes to the security of the alliance, and we welcome the initiative by President Macron to enhance deterrence further. We welcome the opportunity to expand consultation on nuclear issues with France to ensure a coherent, coordinated approach.”
