The Wole Oluyede Campaign Organisation has uncovered how the Ekiti State Government spent ₦25,000,000 on a popular online newspaper to publish falsehood by twisting the ballot recently released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) containing names of candidates of various political parties approved for the June 20 Ekiti Governorship Election.
In a strongly worded statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday by its Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the organisation stated that the government sponsored a popular online newspaper to distort the official ballot released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the campaign, the INEC document consists of two pages, but only the first page featuring the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was published, while the second page, which contains the name of Oluyede and candidates of other parties including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was deliberately suppressed.
The move, the organisation claimed, was a calculated attempt to deceive the public into believing that Oluyede had not been cleared to contest the election.
However, the plot collapsed as the complete INEC document was already in circulation, triggering widespread backlash from the public, with many condemning what they described as a desperate and dishonest tactic.
The campaign further questioned the “reckless diversion of public funds” to finance propaganda, accusing the administration of prioritizing political survival over the welfare of Ekiti people.
Describing the APC-led government as one built on “deceit and manipulation,” the organisation urged residents to remain vigilant and reject what it called a flood of misinformation in the run-up to the election.
Reaffirming its message of change, the campaign declared that a new era of transformation will begin with Oluyede’s election as governor on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The organisation said Oluyede’s emergence would usher in a period marked by massive job creation, economic prosperity, and improved security of lives and property across the state.
According to the group, the promise of a “new era” is not a mere campaign slogan, but a well-defined vision aimed at building a brighter and more inclusive future for all Ekiti residents.
Oluyede’s leadership would focus on empowering communities, creating sustainable employment opportunities, and strengthening security frameworks to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens.
It further noted that the candidate’s development blueprint prioritises innovation-driven growth, youth empowerment through skills acquisition, and policies that balance economic advancement with social stability.
“Dr Oluyede represents the leadership, integrity, and forward-thinking approach required to reposition Ekiti State for greatness. He is not just another candidate, but a solution to building a society where prosperity, confidence, and hope are accessible to all,” the organisation stated.
The campaign team urged Ekiti voters to support Oluyede at the polls, expressing confidence that his administration would deliver meaningful progress and lasting development for the state.
