Ex- Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Sadiya Farouk, honours EFCC invitation

Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouk, honorary reported at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating.

Recently the anti-graft agency arrested and detained the National Co-ordinator and Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency, Halima Shehu, over the ongoing probe into the N37,170,855,753.44 allegedly laundered in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, under the former Minister.

According to a post on her X (formerly Twitter) today, Hajiya Umar-Farouk said, “I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honor the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating.

The EFCC spokesman could not be reached to confirm the minister’s visitation.
