The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele, has expressed deep condolences to the Chancellor of the university, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, over the death of his wife, Mrs. Gbemisola Olutayo Olowolafe.
Deputy Registrar, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs in the institution, Bode Olofinmuagun, in a statement at the weekend, said the Vice Chancellor described the deceased as a pillar to the family of the Chancellor.
“The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Governing Council, management, Senate, staff, and students, express regret that Mrs. Olowolafe died at a time when her services were much needed by her family and the EKSU community,” Olofinmuagun said.
He added further that Professor Ayodele noted that her death had created a big vacuum that would be difficult to fill for a long time.
“Professor Ayodele prayed for the repose of her soul while encouraging Dr. Olowolafe to take solace in the fact that her demise was the will of God.
“He described the deceased as a strong pillar to the Olowolafe dynasty and prayed further that the Almighty God would console and comfort the husband, children, and grandchildren left behind,” Olofinmuagun said.
