“Please, disregard this malicious story cooked by the Ekiti APC which they are using to entertain themselves”.

“Ekiti people and the general public should not take this serous at all. It is coming from the desperation of an unpopular sitting Governor who is desperate for second term that doesn’t exist in 2026 and beyond”.

Speaking on behalf of the youths and students support group, the covener affirmed that he has received several calls from people since yesterday, adding “I am still receiving calls as I speak and that is to tell you that Ekiti people are ready to vote against Oyebanji in the forthcoming election”.

“I understand, people are worried, even from outside the country, I have received calls and messages on this cooked and crook story. This is to tell you the level of of our principal’s acceptance. Oyebanji and APC must leave the shores of Ekiti in 2026.”

The group explained that the former chairman of the PDP, Damagum led NWC conducted the primary on November 8 which was supervised by INEC and other relevant security personnel and Oluyede was nominated to the INEC the following week. Do you think INEC will reject the election they supervised, having the results without a competent court asking them not to do so?, he asked.

He warned Ekiti INEC not to become tools in the hands of Oyebanji and Ekiti APC and they should remain as umpire.

“We as concerned youths and students are warning Ekiti INEC not to compromise this election. Ekiti people will not want a repeat of what happened in 2022 where election results were issued some days to the election day which they forced it on Ekiti up till today. This coming election is 2026 and not 2022”.

The news of the purported removal of Oluyede’s name filtered went viral on Tuesday evening, taking over the social media space and causing worries and agitation among the Ekiti people, wondering about the circumstances that warranted it.
