Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele.
Joshua stated this in his first social media post since a fatal car crash in Nigeria claimed their lives.
The boxing star shared photos on X and Instagram showing him with grieving family members, alongside the caption, “My Brother’s Keeper.” The post marked Joshua’s first public statement since the tragic accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Monday, December 29.
Joshua sustained minor injuries in the crash and was discharged from hospital on New Year’s Eve. He later returned to the United Kingdom ahead of memorial services for Ghami and Ayodele, scheduled to hold in London on Sunday.
A spokesperson for Joshua described the two men as “close friends and integral members of Anthony’s team.” Floral tributes have since been laid at Ghami’s gym in north London, underscoring the outpouring of grief within the boxing community.
Joshua, who has strong family ties to Nigeria, has received widespread messages of support as he continues to mourn the loss of two trusted members of his inner circle.
