The Police Command in Lagos State says it has detained a man (names withheld) for allegedly killing his neighbor and her son over an environmental sanitation dispute in the Lekki area of the state.

The command Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on Monday in Lagos.

He said that the incident happened on Sunday at about 10:50 p.m., and an investigation was ongoing to ascertain what the suspect used to perpetrate the crime.

He said that on September 15, at about 22:50 hours, information was received at the Elemoro division that the suspect allegedly killed one Gloria, who was his neighbor, and her son over an argument about cleaning the environment.

The command spokesman alleged that the suspect put their dead bodies in a big sack to dispose of the bodies.

He said that luck was against him when other neighbors informed the police at the Elemoro division of the incident.

”Immediately, detectives of the division rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect, and recovered the bodies, ” Hundeyin said.

The command spokesman said that the bodies had been deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

According to him, police detectives are investigating the incident.
