The Oyo State government has said the job portal for public primary school teachers in the state will be opened by 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25.

The Chairman, of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the board headquarters in Ibadan.

Dr. Adeniran said the opening was part of the state government’s bid to reduce unemployment among its citizenry.

The portal, according to Dr. Adeniran, would register each candidate with his/her email, phone number, and National Identification Number (NIN), among other requirements, to provide them with jobs suitable for them, either as teachers or caregivers.

Adeniran gave the site address as subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng for the recruitment of 7,000 teachers and 100 caregivers.

According to him, the application will be on for the next three weeks, from June 25, 2024-July 9, 2024.

“The government of Oyo State wants to expand the job space in the basic education sub-sector and those who are interested in working as caregivers,” Adeniran said.

“Education is a major pillar of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration. We are going to have an inclusive government that will utilize valuable potentials that abound in the state and that’s why we are employing new primary school teachers.

“Applicants can channel their complaints, or challenges encountered in the process of the online application through the support service to the phone number and email provided on the website for free support services,” he assured.

He advised applicants to upload necessary documents, adding that the recruitment would be transparent, fair, credible, and based on merit.

Dr. Adeniran said the application would involve three processes, including the online application, Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination, and oral interview.

The SUBEB boss advised applicants to be wary of scammers, adding that the only portal for the job application was the one provided above.

Dr. Adeniran equally said the application process, from beginning to end, was free of charge.

He added that no person, either staff or non-staff, was assigned to collect money from any applicant.

He thanked Governor Makinde for his magnanimity, saying the board would not disappoint him.
